“Caramel” is a darker, more twisted take on modern pop rock. Opening with a clap of thunder, the song marches forth with pounding drums, heavy guitars, and brooding synths. The composition echoes moody hard rock greats like Queens of the Stone Age, while layering an 80’s new wave soundscape. “Caramel” is both a deadly serious descent into the dark sticky mess of addiction, and a joyful ode to teenage freedom and sweet deliverance via candy and self-love.
lyrics
Come on let’s begin
Taste the water once again
I got sugar shakes
I can not pretend
Our bodies melt
To a sweetness that we’ve never felt
Still feel it move
Nothing left to lose
We’re drifting by
So dead we’re alive
Don’t take away
All the stuff I need to make my day
Oh, you've done nothing wrong
You just want some fun
In the dark
When it hurts so bad, you don’t know
How does it feel
Do you know what’s worse
Live your caramel curse
Alright
Put it in your face
It’s just a little taste
Can’t stand the heat
Feed me something sweet
Oh misbehave
Give me what I crave
Our bodies drop
Into a sweetness that will never stop
Oh, you've done nothing wrong
You just want some fun
In the dark
When it hurts so bad, you don’t know
How does it feel
Do you know what’s worse
Live your caramel curse
Alright
Put it in your face
It’s just a little taste
Joyride
Never ending blue skies
Never ending downtime
Saccharine and sweet sigh
Give me what I crave
Seaside
Gaze upon the blue skies
Waste away the down time
Feed the beast that’s inside
Give me what I crave
Oh, you've done nothing wrong
You just want some fun
In the dark
When it hurts so bad, you don’t know
How does it feel
Do you know what’s worse
Live your caramel curse
Alright
Put it in your face
It’s just a little taste
